Herbert M. Burke Sr. of the 5100 block of Robert Hall Blvd., a retired shipping clerk, died March 23, 1995.
Mr. Burke was born in Norfolk. He retired from IT&T Continental Baking Co. and was a member of Oakwood Chapel and Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Elouise Burke; three daughters, Deborah Skinner and Monique Gibson of Chesapeake and Patricia Benson of Manassas, Va.; eight sons, Herbert Burke Jr. and Anthony Burke of Manassas, Va., Jeff Burke and Patrick Burke of Chesapeake and David Gibson of Chesapeake, David Vick and Cederick Revell of Norfolk and Thomas Nashburke of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Odessa Cofer and Martha Boyd of Norfolk and Pastor Mae McGill of Virginia Beach; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Chapel by the Rev. C.N. White. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Arrangements by Graves Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at 1052 Johnston Road, Norfolk.
