James Henry ``Buck'' Dixon, 76, of the 800 block of Melvin Drive, a retired master mechanic, died March 25, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Dixon was born in Kelford, N.C. He retired from Norfolk & Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad after 43 years; was a member of Kelford Baptist Church and Woodman of the World; former town commissioner of Kelford, N.C., and the volunteer fire department.
Survivors include his wife, Alice P. Dixon; two sons, James W. Dixon of Richmond, Va., and Larry E. Dixon of Suffolk, Va.; two sisters, Edna E. Carter and Mary D. Kay, both of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
