JAMES R. MORRISON

James Rowland Morrison, 59, of the 1100 block of Chesslawn Circle West, died March 25, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Morrison was born in the South Norfolk borough of Chesapeake. He was a sales representative for the turf and garden division of Todd Farm Equipment Inc. He was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, member and assistant teacher of Friendship Bible Class, chairman of Official Board, past chairman of Board of Deacons, and past superintendent of the Sunday School and Junior Department. He was past master and past secretary of South Norfolk Masonic Lodge (NU)339, A.F. & A.M.; member of the Scottish Rite; Khedive Temple, AAONMS; Knights of MECCA; past president and charter member of Chesapeake Shrine Club; past patron of Friendship Chapter (NU)57, Order of the Eastern Star; past associate guardian of Bethel (NU)12, International Order of Job's Daughters; past president of Virginia Seedmen's Association of which he was honored as 1994 ``Seedsman of the Year''; and a member of Chesapeake City Council 1970-1974.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Peebles Morrison; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly M. and George Wollette, III of Virginia Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, J. Scott and Valerie Morrison of Chesapeake; a stepfather, Lawrence G. Witherington of Chesapeake; a sister, Donna W. Wells of Chesapeake; and three grandchildren, Michael Scott Morrison, Christopher Tyler Morrison and Kaleigh Elizabeth Morrison, all of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. Willis Dowling and the Rev. Nelson Hodges. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel from 3 to 4 p.m. today and at the residence all other times. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, 1030 Jackson Ave., Chesapeake, Va. 23324.
