Ruth Carter Parker, 97, of Suffolk, died March 17, 1995, in Garland, Texas.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Nansemond County and had been an elementary school teacher in the Nansemond County school system. She was a graduate of Longwood College and a member of Great Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwendolyn P. Harkins of 3722 Crestview Dr., Garland, Texas, 75042; her son, Claud Lee Parker Jr. of 10 South Gougar Road, Joliet, Ill., 60432; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Richard Bruce and the Rev. Oscar Fowler.
