VELMA E. SMITH

Velma E. Smith, of the 700 block of Lenox Ave., died March 24, 1995, in Harlem Hospital.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., and was the daughter of the late Spencer and Nettie Wilson.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Murray and Susie Pierce; and several nieces and nephews, among them Maude Ricks, Josephine Christian, Nina Austin, Rhonnye Ricks and George Ricks.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, 1700 Melon St., by the Rev. G.L. Scott. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Riddick Funeral Service from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral will assemble at the church at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
