ROBERT J. TAYLOR

Robert John Taylor, age 68, of Grandy, N.C., died Friday, March 24, 1995, at Chesapeake General Hospital. He was the son of the late Charles A. Taylor and Grace Lois Taylor. Husband of the late Ann E. Curles Taylor and preceded in death by one brother, Donald Taylor. Survivors include; one daughter, Katherine Harden, and a son-in-law, Samuel G. Harden, both of Chesapeake. Mr. Taylor is survived by five grandchildren; John S. McCarthy Jr., Patrick R. McCarthy and Kelly A. McCarthy, all of Chesapeake, Cindy L. Harden of Va. Beach and Lauri A. Lassiter of La Grange, North Carolina. Mr. Taylor will also be remembered by a special friend, Mrs. Doris G. Harden, of Chesapeake.

Mr. Taylor was born in Detroit, Michigan and retired as a pipefitter and welder from Union 636 in Michigan. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in World War II.

A funeral service will be held at Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Tuesday at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dave Libengood officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening 7-8:30 pm. Memorial donations may be sent to The Gideons Internationals P.O. Box 5706 Chesapeake, Va. 23324, and/or The Building fund for Immanuel Baptist Church. Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge is in charge of the arrangements.
