Mrs. Lynwood ``Lyn'' Flemming Monell, 71, of the 100 block of Gillis Road, died Sunday, March 26, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Monell was born in Portsmouth. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry Linwood Flemming and Marian Culpepper Flemming. She was a Methodist and a former member of the Monday Morning Mixed Bowling League.
Survivors include her husband, Robert D. Monell Sr.; five children, Bette M. and Danny Spaugh of Chesapeake, R.D. Monell of Norfolk, Harry L. Monell of Chesapeake, Thomas W. and Barbara Monell of Portsmouth and David L. and Donna Monell of Portsmouth; three sisters, Ann F. Sharrett of Chesapeake, Betty F. Moger of Suffolk and Elizabeth F. Credle of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Bingham and the Rev. Clayton M. Robertson. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at 311 Saunders Drive, Portsmouth.
