I am so atavistic regarding electronics I would probably use quill pens if they were readily available, and I especially abhor electronic messages being flashed at me.
However, I believe the city should support the small-business man who wants to erect the electronic message sign, for this reason: It is absurd to oppose this endeavor on aesthetic grounds in a city that consistently demolishes 19th-century landmarks to erect parking decks - faux architecture usually faced with styrofoam.
How can we justify opposition to this modest project when in spite of considerable grass-roots opposition, the city supported with millions that dreary, hulking gray eminence, Nauticus; that egregiously failed stab at post-modernism?
