Bernard Clifton Eckenrode, 73, a former resident of Boykins, died on Sunday, March 26, 1995 in Adelaid, South Australia.
He was a former employee of Draper Building Supply Company and the U.S. Post Office in Boykins. He was an active member of the Boykins Lions Club and Lions International of Adelaid, the Boy Scouts organization, serving as scout master both in Boykins and Adelaid, and Boykins United Methodist Church.
Mr. Eckenrode retired after 25 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. He was a native of Shrewsbury, Pa. The family moved to Australia in 1970.
He is survived by his widow, Peggy Draper Eckenrode; two daughters, Rebecca E. Marcardle and Nancy E. Chajka; one son, Charles Leslie Eckenrode, all of Adelaid; one sister, Gertrude E. Calhoune of Glen Rock, Pa.
Burial will be April 2 in the military section of Centennial Park Cemetery in Adelaid. Memorial donations may be made to the Organ Fund or the Building Fund of Boykins United Methodist Church. Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, provided local information.
