HORACE E. TAYLOR

Horace E. ``Gene'' Taylor, 77, died March 26, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Taylor was born in Jacksonville, Fla. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth after 34 years and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Baylake United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Brinkley Taylor; a daughter, Mildred A. Arcese of Portsmouth; two sons, H.E. Taylor III of South Mills, N.C. and Robin Lee Brinkley of Virginia Beach; a sister, Betty T. Smith of Alpine, Texas; two brothers, Captain R.H. Taylor of Chesapeake and Roland E. Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ted David and the Rev. Amy Daniels. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Baylake United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
