LANE E. CLENDENIN

LCDR Lane Edwin Clendenin, USN (Ret.), 81, of the first block of Williamsburg Drive, died March 24, 1995, in Norfolk.

Born in Springville, Tenn., he retired from the Navy after 27 years and also retired from the Virginia Employment Commission. He was the widower of Georgiana Rossman Clendenin and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Helen Clendenin of Norfolk, Elaine Frances Lawson of Gorham, Maine and Julie Lyn Brezina of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; two sons, James Edwin Clendenin of Menlo Park, Calif. and Stephen Odom Clendenin of Norfolk; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
