Mabel Thomas Culpepper, 99, formerly of the 500 block of Shenandoah St., died March 29, 1995.
Mrs. Culpepper was a native of York County and a lifelong resident of Portsmouth. She was the widow of Garland Lee Culpepper Sr. and was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Garland L. Culpepper Jr., a grandson, Garland L. Culpepper III and a brother, Benjamin Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret C. and Robert S. Parker of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, William T. and Natalie B. Culpepper of Virginia Beach; a daughter-in-law, Mildred E. Culpepper of Atlanta; two granddaughters, Linda Parker Ratner and Kathryn Culpepper Richie; two great-grandsons, Mathew Richie and Jason Richie; and many dear friends of Windermere at Virginia Beach.
A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, by the Rev. R. Beverly Watkins. Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at her son's home, 306 53rd St., Virginia Beach.
