Dorsey Evans White Jr., 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 1995.
Mr. White was a native of Mobjack, Va., and was a resident of Poquoson for 39 years. He was a tugboat captain for 47 years and also retired in 1979 from C & O Railroad. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Calvin White.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Davis White; three sons, Dorsey Evans White III of Poquoson, Chaplain Randolf Grady Spry, Ret. Lt. Col. of Winchester, Va., and Larry F. Spry of Hague, Va.; two sisters, Lena Pitkin of Virginia Beach and Countess Glemming of Norfolk; two brothers, Norris A. White of Newport News and Lewis Morgan White of Norfolk; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Claytor Rollins Funeral Home by Dr. Irvin Acree. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
