James Claud Glover, 64, of 22048 Woods Trail, died Wednesday, March 29, 1995, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Glover, a native of Franklin, was the son of the late Emmit Lee Glover and Peggy Story Glover. He was a retired carpenter and longtime horse trainer. He was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Deacons and as head usher. He was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Council Glover; three daughters, Mary G. Edwards of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Peggy G. Babb and Teri G. Fowler, both of Courtland; one son, James Michael Glover of Holland; three sisters, Angelena Keech and Barbara Umphlette, both of Franklin, and Inez Donaldson of Mantua, N.J.; seven grandsons, Clay Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, David Babb, Norman Babb Jr., Danny Fowler and Joseph Fowler; and three granddaughters, Becky Babb, Janice Babb and Jamie Glover Kittle; several nieces and nephews, including a devoted niece, Frankie Fisher of Sedley. He was predeceased by one son, Timothy Brian Glover, one sister, Margaret Hand and one brother, Franklin E. Glover.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sunbeam Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and suggest that memorials be made to Sunbeam Baptist Church, 32001 Monroe Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
