The hook-and-line flounder season in the Atlantic Ocean will open at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
The season which closed Dec. 31, will remain open until Dec. 1.
During this time, no person may possess flounder less than 14 inches in length, or more than eight flounder, when fishing in the Atlantic Ocean within three miles of the beach.
The inside season is currently open year-round with a minimum size of 13 inches allowed and no limit on the number.
The Oregon Inlet bridge is considered the dividing line between the inside and Atlantic Ocean flounder fishery. by CNB
