Little Samuel Whitson Jr., 66, died March 29, 1995.
Mr. Whitson, a retired underwater specialist with Crofton Diving Corporation, was born in Charlotte, N.C. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. Whitson was also a merchant seaman. He was a member and past president of the Tidewater Angels Golf Association and the main engineer on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Ann Whitson of Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Lebby T. Whitson, Homer J. Whitson and William T. Winstead, all of Virginia Beach; and one grandson, Andy Vernon Jr. of Tucson.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Melvin J. Hughes. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge.
