Martha Jones Ellis, 93, of the 2500 block of Brown Road, died Thursday, March 30, 1995, in Martin General Hospital.
Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Samuel Lawrence Ellis, who died Feb. 20, 1970, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Neva Ellis Stalls.
Survivors include four daughters, Delsie Ellis Carraway of Chesapeake, Essie Brown Ellis Stalls and Joan Ellis Brown, both of Jamesville, and Dorothy Ellis Griffin of Williamston; two sons, Samuel Lawrence Ellis Jr. of Jamesville and Dr. J. Wayne Ellis of Rocky Mount; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Jamesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the residence.
