POLICE ISSUE PROFILES OF SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN ODU-AREA SHOOTING

Police have released descriptions of two suspects wanted in the malicious wounding of an Old Dominion University student, who was shot in an alleged robbery attempt near the campus Tuesday night.

Michael Chasteen, 28, was shot four times in his left leg, and his right leg was grazed when he tried to grab a rifle from one of his assailants. The ODU junior was on 48th Street, walking home from a convenience store near the campus when he was robbed. The suspects fled after the shooting.

One suspect was described as a black male, 18 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a ski jacket and blue jeans. He was carrying a .22-caliber rifle, police said. The other was described as a black male, 18, 5 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a tan flannel shirt.
