Julian E. Davenport, 73, died March 30, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Mackey's, N.C., and was a member of Diamond Springs Christian Church, Virginia Beach. He was a retired C.P.O. for the U.S. Navy and Civil Service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60, AMerican Legion Port (NU)0327, Moose Lodge (NU)39, Police Association of Virginia, Beach Tones Choral Group and Over 60 Club.
Survivors include his wife, Vera M. Davenport; one daughter, Pamela D. Moore of Chesterfield, Va.; two sons, Ronald D. Davenport of Chesapeake and Donald I. Davenport of State Center, Iowa; four sisters, one brother, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday on Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Phil Holwager. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. There will be a Fleet Reserve Service at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, when the family will remain until 6 p.m. to receive friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Diamond Springs Christian Church in his memory.
