BANK PRESIDENT: Paul T. Going has been selected as president g1sfbiz02 Going of the Suffolk Branch of Commerce Bank.
He will succeed William C. Branche, who will assume new responsibilities in the bank's Corporate Banking Group.
A native of Baltimore, Md., Going is a graduate of Old Dominion University and PGA Business School. He has been a commercial lender in Commerce's Portsmouth banking group. He lives in the Western Branch section of Chesapeake with his wife, Paige, and their two children.
Commerce Bank serves the Hampton Roads area with 21 full-service banking offices and is now a BB&T affiliate of Southern National Corp., a $20 billion banking organization that has its headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C.
EXECUTIVE JOINS OFFICE: Davenport & Co. of Virginia Inc., the g2sfbiz02 Bain state's oldest investment firm, has announced that J. Philip Bain Jr. has joined the Williamsburg office as an investment executive.
