JAMES B. STANLEY JR.

James B. Stanley Jr., 79, of the 900 block of St. Lawrence Drive, died Saturday in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mr. Stanley was born in Weldon, N.C., and was the son of the late James B. Sr. and Belle James Stanley. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Sheet Metal Supervisor of Shop (NU)99, after 40 years of service.

Mr. Stanley was a member of Oaklette United Methodist Church, Chesapeake; Past Master of the Doric Masonic Lodge (NU)44; also a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Khedive Shrine Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Brightwell Stanley of Chesapeake; his daughter, Joyce Richwine of Richmond, Virginia, and his two sons, James B. Stanley III and Jeffrey B. Stanley, both also of Chesapeake, along with his four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Oaklette United Methodist Church by the Rev. Gene Gee. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake.

Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Oaklette United Methodist Church.
