John Arnold Rosensteel, 78, of the 800 block of Cranston Dr., died Friday in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Rosensteel was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Miles S. and Marguerite Arnold. He had retired as a Foreign Service Officer after thirty-three years of service with the federal government.
Survivors include his wife, Florence M. Rosensteel, and his daughter, Frances R. Blair, both of Chesapeake; his two sons, Jan A. Rosensteel of Haymarket, Virginia, and Stephen A. Rosensteel of Scottsdale, Arizona; two grandchildren, Justin A. Rosensteel of Marshall, Virginia, and Erin C. Blair of Norfolk.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake. There will be no public viewing.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Rosensteel's name.
