Gladys Viola Freeman, 64, of the 2000 block of Linister St., died March 30, 1995, in Lake Taylor Hospital.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Norfolk County. She was a custodian in Chesapeake and the widow of Sylvester Freeman Sr.
Survivors include nine daughters, Viola Foreman, Charlene Spruill, Lillie Stevenson, Yvonne Joyner, Ethel Jones, Bessie Clark, Celestine Watts and Tammy Freeman, all of Chesapeake, and Monique Devine of Baltimore, Md.; a son, Sylvester Freeman of Chesapeake; her mother, Ethel Williams of Norfolk; three sisters, Annie Rudder of Long Island, N.Y., Mary Williams of Portsmouth and Beatrice Vaughen of Chesapeake; two brothers, Albert Williams of Long Island, N.Y., and Moses Williams Jr. of Chesapeake; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Moses Williams Sr.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Paul's Church of God in Christ, 1615 Isaac St., Norfolk, by Dr. Wilbur L. Daniels. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. Family will receive friends at 1772 Atlantic Ave. (Ches.) and will assemble there on Tuesday at noon for funeral processional to the church.
