CLARA E. JOHNSON

Clara Evans Johnson, beloved wife and mother, age 60, of the 800 block of Nottingham Rd., died March 31, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Rockingham, N.C., was the daughter of the late Alford L. and Clara B. Evans. She was a member of Glebe Episcopal Church, Driver, Va.

Survivors include her husband, Judge Cecil W. Johnson (retired); three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Johnson Furman and John; Susan and David Baker all of Portsmouth; Cecilia and Bruce Harlow, Sr. of Virginia Beach; one sister, Lois Evans of Chesapeake; two brothers, Don C. Evans and his wife Susan of Conway, N.C.; Alford L. Evans, Jr. of Bad-Aibling Station, Germany; four grandchildren, Madison Furman, Meredith, Annalee, and Bruce Harlow, Jr; and many other relatives and good friends to whom she left a legacy of love.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 1995 in Glebe Episcopal Church, Driver. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and other times at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Rd., Norfolk, VA. 23502.
