JEANNETTE K. BAILEY

Bailey-Jeannette Keimling, on March 31, 1995, at her home in Manhattan, of pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Louis, daughters Mary-Paula Allegaert, Elizabeth Bailey and Martha Bailey Filosa, and grandchildren Pierre and Spencer Allegaert and Lydia Bailey Filosa. She was on the faculty of Grace Church School from 1969 until illness forced her retirement in March, 1993, first as a teacher of first and then third grade and as director of the library since 1988. A 1950 graduate of Granby High School. She also was a graduate of Stephens College and The College of William and Mary. She did post-graduate study at Exeter (Devonshire) University and held masters' degrees from New York University in learning disabilities and remedial reading. Born June 6, 1926, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Lt. Col. (USMC) Herbert Spencer and Pauline Haas Keimling, of Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Captain (USMC) H. S. Keimling Jr. She has maintained the family home at Willoughby. Services at Grace Church, New York City, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 1995. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Church Window Restoration Fund, Grace Church, 802 Broadway, New York City or to the Jeannette Keimling Bailey Library Fund, GSC, 86 4th Avenue, New York, N. Y. 10003.
