John Henry Rowson, 76, a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, died March 29, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Rowson was born in York, Neb. He had retired from the U.S. Navy as a first class petty officer. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marilyn Davis and a sister, Virginia McCaig.
Survivors include his wife, Olive Marie Rowson; four daughters, Patricia Dove of Washington, D.C., Vera Pierce of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dorothy Crump and Darlene Campbell, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Effie Hyde and Helen Studley, both of North Platte, Neb.; two brothers, Roy Rowson of Bedford, Va., and Charles Rowson of Fulton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will be at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, 20 Koger Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
