Francis Carl Garrett, 81, of the 200 block of Ballahack Road, died Saturday, April 1, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Garrett was born in Currituck County, N.C. and was the son of the late Cincinnatus ``Nat'' and Lucy Grimes Garrett. He retired as a mechanic from the Ford Motor Co., Norfolk Plant, after 27 years of service.
Mr. Garrett was a member of the Lake Drummond Baptist Church, Chesapeake; the United Auto Workers, Lodge 919 and a 27-year member of the Portsmouth Lodge 898 and Loyal Order of the Moose.
Survivors include his wife, Addie Roach Garrett of Chesapeake, whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage with on December 7th, 1994; his two daughters, Martha Eisnaugle and Frances Crocker, both of Chesapeake; his brother, Irving M. Garrett also of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake. The Rev. Frank Hughes and the Rev. Jim Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
