RICHARD O. DOZIER

Richard O. Dozier, 74, of the 200 block of Unser Drive, died April 1, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Dozier was born in Nash County, N.C., and was former president of Dozier Tank and Welding Co. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and former president of the Virginia Bonsai Society. He served in the fourth Marine Division in World War II. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph E. Dozier and LuLa Proctor Dozier.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie D. Dozier; three sons, Richard O. Dozier Jr. and David T. Dozier, both of Virginia Beach and Robert R. Dozier of Harrisburg, N.C.; two sisters, Lucille Herbert of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Caroline Pernell of Cary, N.C.; three brothers, Eugene Dozier of Tarboro, N.C. and George and Arthur Dozier, both of Rocky Mount, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Joseph, Stephen, Michael, Jennifer, Amanda, Richard III, Emily, Heather, and Jonathon, all of Virginia Beach, and Christina and Shaun of Harrisburg, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, April 4, 1995, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Randall Childress at Forest Hills, Nashville, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel to Johnson Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, N.C.
