LAURINE T. WHITEHURST

Laurine Temple Whitehurst, 71, of 103 Island Road, died Sunday morning at her residence. She was a native of Pasquotank County and was a former employee of First Union Bank. Mrs. Whitehurst was the daughter of the late William Edward and Mary Elizabeth Brothers Temple and the wife of Kenneth Whitehurst. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 270.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jimmy West of Camden and Wayne Whitehurst of Shiloh; two sisters, Clarine Carter and Tennie Branch, both of Elizabeth City; one brother, Bruce Temple of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Tracy Jo West of Camden and Brianna Whitehurst of Shiloh.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by the Rev. Ray Simmons. Twiford's Northside Chapel, North Road Street, Elizabeth City, is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will be at her residence, 103 Island Road, South Mills. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, South Mills, N.C.
