Haywood Eugene Fowler, 68, of the 8700 block of Whaleyville Blvd., owner of Somerton Used Cars, died April 2, 1995, in Suffolk.
Mr. Fowler was born in Nansemond County and was a member of Somerton United Methodist Church in Suffolk. He was a member of Travelers Protective Association, Post P and Suffolk Elks Lodge (NU)685 and was a Marine Corps veteran of Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Brinkley Fowler; his mother, Essie Hayes Fowler; a sister, Helen F. Glenn; and a brother, Holmes Fowler, all of Suffolk. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Horace Fowler and his son, Haywood Eugene Fowler Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Somerton United Methodist Church, Suffolk, by the Rev. E. Lane Wadsworth and the Rev. J. Charles Dameron. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial contributions be made to Somerton United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Jean Fowler, Treasurer, 8673 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, Va. 23438, or to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
