Charles G. Vaughan Sr., 60, of 32 South St., formerly of Portsmouth, Va., died April 3, 1995, at his home.
Mr. Vaughan, a member of Moyock Baptist Church, was born in Newsoms, Va., and was the son of Betty H. Vaughan and the late Charlie P. Vaughan. He retired from Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Portsmouth, in 1989 as a supervisory production controller. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Chapter (NU)898 of Portsmouth and the Ruritan Club of Moyock, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Wright Vaughan; a son and daughter, Charles Vaughan and Julie Vaughan of California; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Terry Holloman of Newsoms, Denise and Douglas Holliday of Chantilly, Va., Kathleen and Charles Kemp of Moyock; and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers, Paul Vaughan of Hampton, Va., Billy Vaughan of Tucson, Ariz., David Vaughan of Camden, Del., Willie Vaughan of Newsoms, Samuel Vaughan of Goldsboro, N.C.; and one sister, Ella Sue Vaughan of Petersburg, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Portsmouth, Va., on Wednesday, April 5, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Vic Ramsey of Moyock Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
