John Osborn Winebarger, 84, of the 2200 block of N. Mallory, a retired painter, died April 3, 1995, in Hampton.
Mr. Winebarger was born in Granite Falls, N.C., and was Methodist by faith. He was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Winebarger; three daughters, Sandra Thomas of Hanover, Pa., Brenda Gail Morrison of Larksburg, Calif., and Virginia Sue Deans of Laguna, Calif.; three sons, Bobby Joe Winebarger of Chesapeake, Jeffrey Todd Winebarger of Corona, Calif. and Jon Scott Winebarger of Hampton; four sisters, Estelle Hudgins of Hampton, Bernie Stacey of Halifax, N.C., Dora Ecyhaner of Denver, Colo., and Bessie Kirby of Hickory, N.C.; a brother, Cloyd Winebarger of Hampton; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Buckroe Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Heath. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
