ELMO C. PITTMAN

Elmo Clifton Pittman, 78, of E. Main St., died Tuesday, April 4, 1995, at his home.

He was born in Dendron, Va., and was son of the late Charlie Clifton and Odie Liture Hargrave Pittman. He was a retired watchmaker and had owned and operated Pittman's Jewelry in Wakefield or 54 years. He was a Baptist and a member of the Horological Society of Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Eure Pittman; a son, William E. Pittman and daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Pittman of Toano; a daughter, Linda M. Pittman of Wakefield; a granddaughter, Katherine M. Pittman, and grandson, W. Stewart Pittman, both of Toano; three sisters, Vera P. Branch and Doris P. Massey, both of Newport News and Edith P. Griffin of Windsor. He was brother of the late Burtron H. Pittman.

A graveside service will be held in Wakefield Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Douglas M. Cotter. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
