Sarah C. ``Goose Bill'' Towell, of the 5700 block of Azalea Acres Road, a retired airplane instrument mechanic, died April 3, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Towell was born in Micro, N.C. She retired from Naval Air Rework Depot after 24 years and was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She played Bingo at local places and was known as B-2.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph P. Towell; a daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Curtis Twiford of Virginia Beach; a son, Jesse R. Woodruff of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Teresa Jackson of Virginia Beach; four grandsons, Vernon Woodruff, Jr. and Robert Woodruff, both of Baltimore, Md., Robert Woodruff of Virginia Beach and Michael Woodruff of Florida; and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by a son, Vernon Woodruff.
A funeral will be conducted at 11a.m. Thursday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Dr. Richard Keever and the Rev. Ernest Trueblood. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of Jenny and Curtis Twiford, 756 Brinson Arch, Virginia Beach.
