An elderly man died Tuesday night in a fire at his home in the Kingsmill subdivision, fire officials said.
The man, whose name and age were not released, was found dead shortly after 8 p.m. in his bedroom in the 100 block of Holdsworth Road.
Fire officials said two joggers who spotted smoke coming from the back of the house grabbed a fire hose, broke out a window and began dousing the flames.
Firefighters arrived minutes later and broke down the front door. They found heavy smoke, but the fire was contained to the room where the man was found. The blaze is under investigation.
