Mamie S. Hodges, 95, of the 900 block of Elm Court, died April 3, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., and was the widow of George Hodges. She was a member of United House of Prayer for All Peoples in Virginia Beach; was president of the Soul Hunter Auxiliary, Mother of the Church and member of the Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by two daughters, Roberta Artis and Belle Harvey and a son, Leandis Hodges.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Peggy Wilson of Troy, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Hattie Hodges of Virginia Beach; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in United House of Prayer, Virginia Beach, by Apostle W.R. Scott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will assemble at 937 Elon Court, Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
