Walter Asberry Joyner, 83, of the 1800 block of Pope Ave., died April 1, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mr. Joyner was retired from Dixie Manufacturing Co. after 25 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Marie Cox and Edith Levonne Joyner of Norfolk; two sons, William D. Hazer of District Heights, Md., and Eugene W.F. Hazer of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a sister, Esther Louise Brown, and a brother, Albert Lee Joyner, both of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hale Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Cousins. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
