ROY E. JOBE JR.

Roy Eugene ``Gene'' Jobe Jr., 74, of the 600 block of Gladstone Ave., died April 5, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Jobe was a native of Greensboro, N.C., and was retired from Sheetmetal Shop (NU)17, Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 37 years. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church, the Believers Sunday School Class and Western Branch Masonic Lodge (NU)189. He was a veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred T. Jobe; a daughter, Sandra J. Burton of Seminole, Fla.; two sons, Stephen N. Jobe Sr. of Chesapeake and Samuel E. Jobe of Portsmouth; a sister, Mary Lou McCollum and a brother, Harvey Jobe, both of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Kevin, Cindy and Barry Barnes of Seminole, Stephen Jr., Shelly and Carrie Jobe of Chesapeake; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Barnes and B.J. Carryer of Seminole.

A funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Friday in Alexander Baptist Church by the Rev. Alan G. Moore. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Alexander Baptist Church, 3801 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth, Va. 23707.
