CHARLES V. SPENCER

Charles Vernon ``Capt. Jack'' Spencer, 80, of the 5500 block of Shadowwood Drive, retired owner and operator of Marine Salvage Corp., died April 4, 1995, in Virginia Beach.

He was born in Beckley, W.Va. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly B. Spencer; two daughters, Cynthia S. Munford and Sharon A. Hartline, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Ella Stover of West Virginia; three grandchildren, James E. Munford III, Beverly Brooke Munford and Kyle C. Munford.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, April 10, in Good Samaritan Episcopal Church by Father Robert Lunquist. The family will receive friends in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, 848 Baker Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462.
