Landmark Communications Inc. said it agreed to sell its monthly Chicago magazine to New York-based K-III Communications Corp., owner of New York, Seventeen and other magazines. Terms weren't disclosed. Norfolk-based Landmark acquired Chicago in 1990, with an eye toward developing a city magazine group. But Landmark Vice Chairman Richard F. Barry said the company has been unable to acquire other attractive magazines of that genre and decided that it didn't want to control just one such publication. Landmark, parent of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, still owns a 49 percent stake in Washingtonian magazine. (Staff) by CNB
