SATURDAY

SATURDAY

IS ELVIS REALLY in a police witness protection program? That could be the reason for all the sightings. You might even catch him tooling around among the classic cars at this Saturday's Hot Rod Jamoree from noon to 6 p.m. at Chesapeake City Park. Now, that won't be him on stage at 12:50 p.m. That'll be local Chesapeake musician Sterling Riggs (pictured here) putting on his Elvis Presley Show - but who's that over by the hot dog stand? There'll be more music by Bobby Messano & NBO at 2 p.m. and The Mann Sisters at 4 p.m. Admission is free. 543-5373.

TONIGHT

A BIT OF IRISH blarney mixed amply with romance, ``Circle of Friends'' arrives at movie theaters today, too late for St. Patrick's Day but just right for spring dates. Three girls leave their small Irish town to go to college in Dublin. Chris O'Donnell (``Scent of a Woman'' and ``The Three Musketeers'') is the nice-guy athlete who attracts all three. It's the ``plain one,'' though, whom he fancies. Minnie Driver, a newcomer, has the role. It's based on a novel by Maeve Binchy, one of Ireland's most popular contemporary authors. Put on something green, and get a ticket.

SUNDAY

THEIR SINGLE ``New Age Girl'' fell off Billboard's Hot 100 just a few weeks ago, after spending time there since last summer. Dead Eye Dick's first hit, a radio favorite for what now seems like forever, received a further shot in the arm when it was included on the ``Dumb and Dumber'' soundtrack album - where it probably belongs. The New Orleans modern-rockers, who actually have a good song or two up their sleeves, return to Hampton Roads Sunday at the Abyss, 1065 19th St. in Virginia Beach. Tickets: $5. For more information, call 422-0748.

WEDNESDAY

Ignore those budding daffodils and nest-building birdies. Inside the Hampton Roads Coliseum, Winter still reigns supreme for the 1995 Tour of World Figure Skating Champions.

This group is hot enough to melt all that ice: Nancy Kerrigan, Oksana Baiul, Brian Boitano, Surya Bonaly (pictured), Michelle Kwan, Viktor Petrenko, Elvis Stojko and more. The show's at 8 p.m. Wednesday. You'll have to do some begging to get in, though - tickets have been sold out for weeks.
