He was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include a son, Lamonte King; a stepson; his mother, Mary E. King; a sister, Mary A. King; two brothers, Larry King and Hillard King Jr.; three nieces, Lakeisha King, Vanessa King and Latasha King; two nephews, Brian King and Timothy King; five aunts; and four uncles.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fisher Funeral Home by the Rev. Rodger Steele. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will be at 1408 Green St. and will assemble there for the processional. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
