Raymond Edward Nethercutt Sr., 71, of Route 1, died April 5, 1995, at his home.
Mr. Nethercutt was the son of Mr. John Lewis Nethercutt and Mrs. Annabelle Jones Nethercutt.
Mr. Nethercutt was the former owner of Bayside Exxon in Virginia Beach, and a member of the Bayside Masonic Lodge 218 AF & AM in Virginia Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Shupe Nethercutt of Nathalie; one son, Raymond E. Nethercutt Jr. and daughter-in-law, Margaret of Nathalie; his stepmother, Mrs. Mollie Mae Barrow of Maury, N.C.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Faulkner of Lagrange, N.C., and Mrs. Helen Stancil of Ayden, N.C.; and one half-brother, Mr. Robert Nethercutt of Maury, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Shelton Miles conducting the service. Burial will take place in Republican Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home today from 7 until 8:30 p.m., and other times at the home on Route 1, Nathalie. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home, 1603 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, Va. 24592.
