Fred Austin Baker, 86, of the 700 block of Summer Place, died April 6, 1995, in his residence.
He was born in Burke County, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Baker; three daughters, Judy Usry of Portsmouth, Lynda McDaniel of Chesapeake and Nancy Cobbs of Ahoskie, N.C.; a son, Frank Baker of Terrell, Texas; two sisters, Sudie Hollyfield and Pearl Hantz of Morganton, N.C.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack D. Baker.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. John O. McCloud. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
