JAMES T. JOYNER

James Thomas Joyner, 76, of Route 1 Box 368 B, died April 6, 1995.

A native of Isle of Wight County, Va., he was a son of the late John Thomas and Louise Fowler Joyner. Mr. Joyner was a retired painter and sandblaster and was a World War II Army veteran who fought in Germany, France and North Africa. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Parker Joyner; three sons, Ronnie J. Joyner, George W. Joyner, Jerry T. Joyner, all of Sedley; a sister, Carrie Byrum of Portsmouth; two brothers, Jackson Lee Joyner of Windsor, Arthur Joyner of Suffolk; a grandson, James Michael Joyner of Sedley; three stepsons, David Parker of Ahoskie, C. Keith Parker of Nashville, Tenn., and Stacey Parker of Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the R & W Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Wint Hale. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C., 27910.
