HATTIE STOVALL

Hattie S. Brown Stovall, 74, died April 5, 1995, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Portsmouth, a retired practical nurse at DePaul Hospital, Portsmouth, and a member of Union Bethel AME Church. She was the widow of the late Rev. David Stovall.

Survivors include three daughters, Daveeda S. Phillips of Hayward, Calif., Mary Stovall of Bronx, N.Y. and Ethel S. Bias of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, David Stovall Jr. of Bronx, N.Y. and Samuell Dwight Stovall of Carrollton, Va.; one sister, Johnell Ford of Carrollton, Va.; one brother-in-law, Samuel Stovall and his wife, Diane Stovall of Gillette, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday in Union Bethel AME Church, Smithfield by the Rev. Willie P. Boothe III and Presiding Elder Paul Clifford Atkins. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements by Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield.
