Ruth Brooks Stafford, of the 2500 block of Rodgers St., died April 6, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Stafford was born in Asheville, N.C., and was a member of the First Church of God, Norfolk. She was a member of the South Norfolk Civic League and Women's Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, J. Robert Graham Chapter.
Survivors include husband, Claude A. Stafford Sr.; one daughter, Amy Stephan of Chesapeake, Va.; one son, Claude A. Stafford Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Cleo Shelton of Chesapeake, Va.; grandchildren, Carey Stafford, Jennifer Stafford and Garry Stephan Jr., all of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. by John Keene in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Marshall, N.C. Monday at 11 a.m. Contributions may be made to The Gideons International, The Chesapeake West Camp, P.O. Box 1102, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
