Abijah Lee Swain Sr., 85, of Lawrence Circle, died April 7, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Swain was born in Plymouth, N.C. and was a retired security guard for Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant. He attended Chesapeake Church of God.
Survivors include one daughter, Beatrice E. Rawles of Portsmouth; four sons, R.S. Swain of Chesapeake, Phillip Lee Swain of Gates County, N.C., Johnny L. Swain of Elkhart, Indiana, and Abijah Lee Swain Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel on Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m.
