A 23-year-old man was fatally shot in the 600 block of 27th St. on Friday afternoon.
Richard Owens died after he was taken to Sentara Hampton General Hospital, police spokeswoman Patricia L. Mahaffy said.
Police found Owens with at least one gunshot wound when they were called to 27th Street at 3 p.m.
No more information was available Friday afternoon.
