MILDRED V. EDWARDS

Mildred V. Edwards, 75, of the 100 block of Walnut St., died April 6, 1995, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Southampton County and retired from Planters. She was the daughter of the late Henry Spurill Sr. and Esther McNair Spurill. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and Senior Usher Board and sponsor of Young Adult Choir, Pastor's Aid and Missionary Circle.

She leaves to cherish and perpetuate her memory: her husband, Lloyd Isreal Edwards; her sister, Doretha Duke Woodson of Carrsville; her brother, John Harris of Rosedale, N.Y.; her devoted goddaughter, Shirron Richardson of Waldorf, Md.; her brother-in-law, Richard Edwards; her four sisters-in-law; Evelyn J. Edwards and Katie Edwards of Suffolk, Va.; Mary Edwards of Baltimore, Md.; and Marilyn Harris of Rosedale, N.Y.; a niece who was like a daughter, Vivian V. Turner; a nephew who was like her son, Rev. J. Rayfield Vines Jr.; special devoted friends, Shirley M. Edwards, Ulysses Whitfield and Dorothy Sharp; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many devoted friends.

Her life's motto was ``If I Can Help''.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk, by Dr. C.M. Morgan. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Crocker Funeral Home. The body will be in the church by 10 a.m. Tuesday.
